The second annual Franschhoek Lions Treasure hunt took place on the 26th of May 2012. The proceeds of the event were put towards two brand new suction units to be used by Medicare-EMR. These suctions units are used to used to clear fluid, blood and mucus from a patient’s airway

The event is based on the popular TV show Amazing Race, with the difference that teams consist of 4 people in a car and not on foot. Each team participated on different routes in and around the spectacular Franschhoek Wine Valley.

Participants met at Leopards Leap (opposite Maison Wine Farm) on the 26th of May 2012 at 08h45. There they received a pack with clues (the necessary information) to find your way . They were then sent on an excursion of wine-themed tasks at different wine estates in the Franschhoek wine Valley. Each clue directed the teams to a farm where they did a wine tasting and perform a specific task.

This task were timed from the moment it started until completed in a satisfactory manner and allocated time. Each Team visited a total of 5 wine estates and a venue of interest.

At the end of the race participants meat for a late lunch and prize giving at Goederust Restaurant.

We would like to thank the Franschhoek Lions Club and all the participants for their ongoing support.
